Bearack Obama?

This photo captures a disturbing trend that is beginning to affect wildlife in the US.

After a sweeping Democratic Party victory in the November elections, animals that were formerly self-sufficient are already modifying their behavior to take advantage of what they expect to be a new set of societal norms in the next four to eight years.
This black bear from Montana has ceased hunting for a living and is sitting outside the US Fish & Wildlife Service office in Kalispell, apparently waiting to be fed and to have his winter den dug by government employees.
The residents of Kalispell are calling him "Bearack Obama".

The Christmas Sweater

Tyler and I were able to see the Christmas Sweater live this evening at the Qwest Arena. We both thought it was very well done. This is a story for everyone. I was worried that it would have strong LDS overtones, but it didn't at all; Quite the opposite. Great job Glen! Thanks for sharing your story.">">">

Romans 13 says that we must respect authority, because God has put them there. This one is hard to understand under our current circumstances, but this verse in Proverbs gives me peace.

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. Proverbs 21:1

Is this what some think, really?

Struck Down But Not Destroyed

I'm still a bit shocked by the events of last night. I was really holding out for a miracle, and hadn't prepared myself. I woke up this morning feeling as sick as I did when I went to bed. Although I didn't feel like it, I did get up with my 5:00 a.m. alarm to get ready for our early morning prayer watch at church.

I'm so glad I went and spent that time in prayer and worship. I always leave our prayer watch meetings feeling better than when I got there, but this morning completely changed my thinking and my attitude. What a blessing to be able to surround yourself with people of God when you need it most.

We've been in prayer for God's will to be done. We've been praying that he put the person of His choosing in office. In secret... some not so secret... we've been praying for McCain to be put in office. God has a plan and Obama must be in that plan.

Now, we must acknowledge that he is our president elect. We must commit to praying for him and his family. Let's pray that God gets a hold of him and changes him. Obama's winning will no doubt get the church fired up, or should. God's people need to be in prayer for our nation! If McCain won, the church would just settle back in with a "Whew, close one" mentality. We need to get passionate and put on the cloke of zeal!

Romans 13
Submit to Government
1. Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.

Mike Huckabee:
“Politics is not an event but a process. We sometimes lose the events but it never gives us the right to stop being faithful to our principles that enlisted us in the process. We shall live to fight another day. He (Obama) was not my choice, but he will be my President and I will pray for him to lead this great nation with God's help and grace."

Instead of getting angry, let's get fired up! Our country needs us now more than ever! Our hope is not in our government anyway, it's in our sovereign God! We have been blessed to live in a Christian nation. That is a blessing, but as our pastor said Sunday, all we really need is the cross. The cross alone is more than enough.
